NYC Underground, Projectivity and 5050 Skatepark Fundraiser

“NYC Underground, Projectivity and 5050 Skatepark partnered together for another great cause, this time organizing a tribute festival for a close friend and well known musician in the Staten Island hardcore music scene.

Edgardo “Twelve” Sierra was not only a great person, son, brother, and friend, but was also a huge influence in Staten Island’s underground music scene. When news of his passing came our way and the manner in which it occurred, we immediately sought out a way to help his family and friends through this rough time, and as entertainers and event coordinators we had only one solid idea: To coordinate and execute a concert in his name and give all the proceeds to his family.

A day or two later, a status was posted on Facebook in search of bands and other artists that might be interested in performing at this event. We initially thought we’d get confirmation from 3 – 4 bands. What actually happened took us completely by surprise. 12 bands reached out to express their NEED to play this event!

The festival turned out to be a great success with over 100 people in attendance in extemely short notice. Bands that participated were A Wake In Providence, Legends, Heroes, Polarity, A Death on Main Street, Sicada, Wicker House, Radioactive Material, Strays, Gallons of Pork, Roboclot, Ventriceiv, Paradiso, and Dru Gunnz. Proceeds from the event are going to the family of Edgardo “Twelve” Sierra. Over $750 was raised for the family. For more information about the event, or to learn how to donate to the family, contact Projectivity at [email protected] or NYC Underground at [email protected].”                                                              – Projectivity
